Lets Shape The Future
About Me
My name is Jasmin Galbert and I am currently a Graduate student at Lamar University in the Digital Leading & Learning program. I am new to creating ePortfolio's but hope to get better and more confident about it as time goes on. I first started out in Spring Branch ISD working with children with Autism and now I serve as a Special Education Inclusion teacher in Aldine ISD. I am so passionate about working with SpEd students and making sure they are utilizing resources as much as any other and making sure they have the proper support they need to better their future. My concentration started off with elementary SpEd students but now I have switched to Special Education 6th-8th and I just love seeing how interactive they are and for them to reach their academic goals. I hope this portfolio helps me reach out to other SPED educators and to hear the ideas that they implement for their students. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me also, please check out my blogs where I will be posting weekly.

My Skills

Creative Thinking
As an educator, you are always trying to think about what is best for the students. Whether it's keeping them involved in the school, or just having a fun day once a month to keep the kids excited about school. School is mainly about learning but we also want kids to have fun too. Creative Thinking is an important skill of mind because I am always thinking of how can students stay involved in their school and community.
Technological Skills
With my graduate program being Digital Learning, I am implementing more screen time for students. There are tons of easy learning applications for students to use to help them grow in curriculums that they struggle with. With the future of the kids being involved with technology, they need to be learning from the useful applications that are about to emerge.

" It is not what is poured into the student, but what is planted that counts "
