To be able to utilize the resources that come with learning from technology can not only enhance a student's learning, but can also minimize the amount of time needed to teach a student. I was always told ‘It's not what you know, it's who you know’. This quote has always stuck with me because knowing the right people can open doors for you that you wouldn’t even imagine. Before the ADL program, it never crossed my mind to join a learning community. Learning communities are there to answer questions that your peers might not know how to. They are there to provide you feedforward, share, and collaborate w/ you on assignments, long term, or short term goals. I believe if I would have known about learning communities during undergrad, I would have felt more secure in knowing there are communities out there ready and willing to assist.
I am currently a part of two learning communities Via facebook. Learners Mindset CoP is a public learning community where people go on and blog motivational posts, congratulate and shout out their peers, new learning methods, etc. another community I am a part of is Digital Learning via Facebook. This is a large private group with members from all over the world. This learning community is so broad on blog posts. It ranges anywhere from new learning methods, offering tutorials, exam preparations and so much more.
