Aligning Outcomes, Assessment, & Activities
A year (or more) after this course is over, I want and hope my students will continue to build on their ePortfolios and connect with not only students from their school but from other campuses within the district.
Aligning Outcomes: Text
1. Specific Context of the Teaching/Learning Situation
I have a total of 10 students in my Special Education classroom. The primary course is grades K-5th
Learning ePortfolios will be included in ELA time. I will spend a total of 45minutes a day for 4 days a week. The course will be delivered in the classroom, face to face. Most of my students know how to use their Chromebooks and tablets without my assistance.
2. General Context of the Learning Situation
The learning expectations will be to have all students connect via discussion boards. ePortfolios are a great way to connect to everyone on the campus through shared interests and discussion boards.

3. Nature of the Subject
This subject is primarily practical. Students partnering up and building their ePortfolios, will help them develop social skills, and technological skills, and find other things they are interested in and connect with. This course is also primarily divergent. Students will be able to create their own ePortfolios thats unique to them. There will be important changes while this course is being delivered. Technology is constantly changing and because of this, students must steady learn new technological skills.

4. Characteristics of the Learners
This course is for young learners who want to learn more about technology and the resources that are available to them. The life of the learners will be more socio-economic and personal. Each student's ePortfolio will be unique and personal to them. Students will feel very proud of their ePortfolios because they will be composed of their thoughts and feelings through blog posts. My expectations for this course are not only for students to learn how to use ePortfolios, but also for them to start connecting with their peers and other students around their campus.
5. Characteristics of the Teacher
The beliefs I have about teaching and learning are not limited. Both students and educators can be both teachers and learners. My attitude towards learning and teaching is very rare and engaging. It takes a special person to be a special education teacher. So, I not only care about what my students are learning but also why they are learning it and what they can use it for. I have high technical skills and also want my students to develop those skills over time. I want my kids to use each other and answer each other questions and teach/learn from each other.
