Crucial Conversations

  • As an educator, I believe leadership is extremely important. To be a leader in education means you are not only changing the right now, but you are also changing the future. Having others come to you for advice and feedback/feedforward is important in getting people to support your change. To be an effective leader, you must be active in your work and have those crucial conversations.

  • To become a self-differentiated leader, you have to first believe in the change and know how to appeal to the hearts rather than the minds. You have to be confident in what you believe in to get others to be confident in the change. To be a leader, you have to be open, honest, nonjudgemental, and open to any questions. Making sure we do not get “triangled” and being active and knowing your audience makes a great leader.
