Influencer Strategy

After watching the videos and reading some of my peers' discussions, I feel as though your peers and your social interactions can influence a changed behavior. Most people befriend others who have the same interest as them and have similar things in common. So when a behavior needs to be changed, they sometimes look to their peers for feedback. Trying to get a change going is not easy, and is different for one person alone. Just imagine how it is for educators. When educators are making their lesson plans, we have to think of how to keep all 20 students engaged in a lesson, we have to think of how 20 kids learn and how to get them to actively participate in the lessons. After washing the ‘All Washed Up’ video, I learned that you need more than one source, more than one way to teach/ influence students to learn. Thinking of all the ways to keep students engaged is the same thing as trying to come up with ways to get others to change a behavior.

When I see someone with a habit or an addiction, i think to myself ‘now who put them on that?’ We as humans influence each other so much that I don’t think we realize it. For example we as females see a girl walking with a cute top and we ask them where they get it from. They tell us, and now we feel influenced to go buy one as well. Or when two underaged students see older students having a cigarette and they walk up and ask if they can have a smoke as well knowing they have never smoked before. We are all influenced in different ways but it gets us to make some kind of change. Since it can take many ways to influence and change someone's decision or behavior, we should always think of different sources to help influence the different decisions and behaviors.
