I feel like every PD should be different. No one (especially staff) wants to be just sitting down taking notes like any other regular schooling. PD should be a fun learning environment for teachers that can demonstrate how they can use those resources and play for their students. In the ‘Innovation That Sticks Case Study - OCSB’ the teachers seem more invested in their PD’s. The teacher to teacher collaboration is always a good idea. Bouncing ideas off each other to see what works for students and what doesn't can help both teachers on how to create different learning methods for their students. Being a teacher should mean you are always open to change. Going to PD’s promotes change and should be used to make teachers more comfortable with the change. Having support from all staff is necessary for effective PD. Even though that teacher/staff is not in your department or subject area, you all can still utilize each other on what works and what doesn’t. Or how to tweak something that doesn’t work to something that does. I also agree that the principal's presence is also important for PD’s. Showing teachers that yes even though you are in charge of the school that you are still a learner and willing to help in any way they can.
