What really Work?

I believe PD doesn’t work because most teachers feel like they don't need it or it's useless. Teachers feel like they don’t need to be taught how to teach because they learned it before getting their certificate. Teachers (new and old) need to know that every school year is different and new learning methods need to be used. Professional developments will be more effective if admin or mentors can come into the classroom with teachers and help them that way. If you are lecturing a group of teachers then give them handouts, they will not know where to start or even remember most things that were spoken about. Professional development will be more effective if it was hands-on instead of a lecture.
